UPDATE: Speaker submissions are now closed. We are pouring over them now (we got lots of submissions, over fifty, so deciding among them isn't easy). First Speaker Announcement: Douglas Crockford!

We are thrilled to announce Douglas Crockford as our kickoff speaker for GothamJS 2012.

Douglas is a world renowned JavaScript expert, who speaks at software conferences all over the world, including JSConf, CapitolJS, TXJS, and FalsyValues. He is the creator of JSLint, the famous code quality tool that will "hurt your feelings", but make your JavaScript better. He also successfully promoted the use of JSON as a data interchange format, a massive improvement to XML that made life easier for all of us. Douglas is also the author of JavaScript: The Good Parts, an essential book that we have all read, and still refer to regularly.

Our 2012 Call for Presentations is Open!

Want to speak at GothamJS in NYC? We need some great presentation proposals! Submit your presentation proposal to GothamJS.

Presentations should focus on helping our attendees by teaching from your experiences. Our audience is primarily practicing JavaScript developers (of all levels), so talks should lean towards the technical side. All JavaScript related topics will be considered. Each presentation should be 40 minutes long, including time for questions and discussion.

Submit as many proposals as you want. More than one helps you get selected because we sometimes get similar talks from different people. Panels or multi-presenter proposals are fine. Speakers will receive free admission to the conference and parties, and the opportunity to address a large audience of talented and influential developers!

Proposals are being accepted through May 3rd.

We look forward to seeing some great proposals!

Thank You Everyone!

Thank you to everyone who attended the first GothamJS. The response was better than we had hoped, with over 200 people attending, perfect for a great technology community conference. You were a great crowd, and we hope you enjoyed GothamJS as much as we did.

Thank you to all of the GothamJS speakers. We were amazed with the high quality of your presentations, your expertise, and the considerable presentation skills you brought to New York. You all deserved to perform on Broadway!

Thank you to our organizers. This conference, not surprisingly, was a great deal of work, and having help is essential.

And, of course, thank you to our sponsors. Without your help putting on a conference like this would be very hard indeed. Buy their products, hire them, or go to work for them, folks!

Thanks to all of you for making the first GothamJS a big success and a blast, too! We will definitely be back next year, with an even better GothamJS!
